Thorough Cleaning

When you visit Central Valley Dental Care for your cleaning and exam, your dental hygienist will clean your teeth to remove any buildup of plaque that you have acquired. You will leave our office feeling refreshed.

Necessary X-Rays

Dental X-rays help us get a more detailed view of your teeth to determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed. From there, our dentist and team will come up with a treatment plan specifically for you, whether that be restorative or maintenance care.

Comprehensive Exams

Following your cleaning and X-rays, our dentist will review them with you to diagnose any issues that have been spotted. Together you and our dentist will discuss which route you want to go to improve and repair your oral health.

Tailored Treatment Plan

If further dental treatments are required to restore your oral health, our dentist and team will customize a treatment plan to leave you with a healthy mouth and bright smile.

Preventive Treatment Options

Cleaning & Hygiene

While you may be on top of your dental hygiene at home, you should always visit the dentist on a regular basis for a dental cleaning and exam. We strongly recommend every six months. During your visit, our dentist may use high-quality technology to check for signs of tooth decay and gum disease so you can be aware of any possible concerns.

Digital X-Rays

Our team uses digital X-rays as a safe and effective way to capture detailed images of your mouth. After we gather these images, our dentist will assess them to see if your dental health is on the right track. If there are any concerns, we will discuss a plan with you to repair them.

Fluoride Treatments

If you are prone to cavities, you may want to consider fluoride treatment at your next visit with Dr. David Beistline here at Central Valley Dental Care. This treatment works as an extra preventive measure to increase your chances of achieving a cavity-free smile.

Dental Sealants

If you have little ones at home, you may want to consider dental sealants. These work to provide extra protection against tooth decay to keep their smile free of cavities. A thin layer of resin will be applied to the teeth where cavities are most likely to form.

Periodontal Care

If you have red, infected gums you may have a case of periodontal disease. With a visit at Central Valley Dental Care, our dentist will perform a thorough evaluation to confirm a diagnosis and discuss all the periodontal care we offer to create a personalized treatment plan.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Keep yourself informed on the status of your dental health with an oral cancer screening at Central Valley Dental Care. This treatment is performed quickly to check for signs of oral cancer early on rather than later. If there are signs of oral cancer, it is crucial that we treat it as early as possible.

Night Guards

If you have been waking up with headaches or notice wear and tear with your teeth, you may have signs of bruxism. This is when you grind or clench your teeth while sleeping. If this the case for you, our dentist may highly recommend you wear a night guard while asleep to protect your teeth.

Sports Guards

Do you have a teen who is involved in high-contact sports at school? If so, protect their smile from injury with a sports mouth guard here at Central Valley Dental Care. These are custom-made to fit their mouth so they can safely and comfortably resume the activities they love.

How should I properly brush my teeth?

Select a soft-bustled tooth brush and grip it gently between your fingers. Apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste. Hold the toothbrush at a 45-degree upward angle, near the gumline and brush gently back and forth, or circular, to clean the teeth. Repeat this technique over all your teeth’s surfaces. Each quadrant of the mouth needs about 30 seconds of proper brushing. It is important to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months.

How do I floss correctly?

Unravel about 24 inches of floss and wind it around your preferred finger on both hands. Keep a 1-inch section to slide between your teeth. Take the floss up the gumline to remove plaque and bacteria.

What’s the difference between dental prophylaxis and periodontal cleanings?

It is recommended that that people receive a prophylactic cleaning every six months to prevent cavities and other oral health problems. Our team will clean your teeth and take X-rays to make sure there are no concerns.

Periodontal cleanings are also referred to as “deep cleanings” and are only necessary if you are struggling with periodontal disease. Our team will remove the bacteria, tartar and plaque that is causing the irritation.

Is preventive care covered by dental insurance?

Most dental insurances fully cover preventive dental care including cleanings and evaluations. If your provider does not cover 100%, it will typically be partially covered. Depending on your plan, it may cover additional treatments as well. Call your provider to learn more about your coverage in order to maximize your benefits.
